World of Dance is a team dance competition series that began as a single Los Angeles event in 2008 and now runs qualifiers across the US and around the world. US stops are one-day qualifiers with three divisions for groups of five or more: Pre-Junior (12 and under), Junior (17 and under) and Team (all ages), plus showcase spots for non-competing groups and for trios and quads. Teams and crews apply with an audition video and register once accepted. A panel of at least five judges scores performance, technique, choreography, creativity and presentation equally, and the top three teams in each division take trophies. Qualifier teams are invited to the World of Dance Summit, the international finals with battles and masterclasses. Some stops also host all-styles adult 1v1 battles.
