Prelude Dance Competition

Prelude is a network of regional hip hop and street dance choreography competitions for teams, run with a local host team in each region, from NorCal (since 2006) and the Midwest (since 2010) to the DMV, New York, SoCal, the South and Las Vegas, plus events in Tijuana and Toronto. Teams apply and are selected, then compete in one of two divisions: Junior (18 and under, junior high and high school teams) or Adult (collegiate and adult teams), with a six-minute limit per routine. Three performance judges and one Foundation Judge score each set, and every routine must include at least three foundational street dance forms. The top three teams are announced, and first place takes a trophy, a banner and a cash prize.
