Monsters of Hip Hop is a touring hip hop dance convention that runs weekend regionals at host hotels across the US and closes each season with a Summer Finale in Burbank, California. Dancers train all weekend with a choreography faculty and a Foundation faculty, in levels from Mini (5 to 8) through Pre-Professional (21 and over). Each regional also holds a hip hop-only competition for dancers registered for the full convention, adjudicated by the faculty with written critiques, in four age divisions from 8 and under to 16 and over. Commercial and new-school hip hop are welcome, and street jazz, house, old school and funk styles are encouraged. The weekend adds freestyle battles with cash prizes and scholarship auditions for the Summer Finale.
