Drop the Beat

Drop the Beat is a regional youth dance competition touring the Midwest, with 2027 stops in Indiana, Illinois, Ohio and Michigan. Routines compete at three levels (Novice, Recreational and Elite), each with its own awards ceremony, across six age divisions from Rookie (6 and under) to Adult (20 and over), in solos, duets and trios, small and large groups, and lines and productions. Every regional city awards $3,000 in cash prizes to the Elite division and $3,200 in scholarships that dancers can use at any convention, and the highest-scoring routine of each city takes home the Drop the Beat title belt for a year. Media is free for every registered routine.
